At Max Life Insurance, a role in the Direct Channel (often titled as Relationship Manager or Direct Sales Manager) is focused on high-quality lead conversion and managing existing customer portfolios.
Core Responsibilities
Working in the Direct Channel is typically more "lead-based" than "cold-market" based. Your primary duties would include:
Lead Management: Attending to leads provided by the company (from central marketing, digital inquiries, or walk-ins) and converting them within a specific Turnaround Time (TAT).
Customer Acquisition: Identifying and acquiring new customers through direct outreach, referrals, and personal networking.
Portfolio Management: Handling an existing portfolio of customers to ensure policy renewals (persistency) and upselling or cross-selling new products.
Financial Consulting: Conducting "Need-Based Sales" by understanding a customer's financial profile, risk appetite, and life goals to recommend the right plan (Term, Savings, or Retirement).
End-to-End Service: Managing the entire process from sourcing the application to medical coordination and policy issuance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: Typically requires a Graduate degree in any stream.
Experience: Usually ranges from 1–6 years in sales. While insurance experience is preferred, candidates from banking, NBFC, or telecom sales are often welcomed.
Soft Skills: Strong verbal communication (English and regional language), negotiation skills, and a "growth mindset."
Local Knowledge: A good understanding of the local area and the ability to travel for client meetings.
