Operations
Process monitoring and control: Oversee daily plant operations, monitor processes like coagulation, filtration, and disinfection, and control equipment such as pumps and chemical dosing systems.
Water quality management: Collect samples for analysis, perform tests (e.g., residual chlorine), and ensure the water meets quality standards for treatment and discharge.
Emergency response: Handle real-time operational and maintenance issues, including emergency situations, to maintain safety and continuity.
Regulatory compliance: Ensure all plant activities comply with local and national environmental regulations and permits.
Maintenance
Routine inspections: Conduct regular rounds to inspect equipment, identify potential problems, and perform necessary cleaning and calibration.
Preventive and corrective maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance tasks and respond to breakdowns and repairs on equipment and systems.
Record keeping: Maintain accurate logs and reports on plant operations, water quality, and equipment performance.
Housekeeping: Perform general upkeep of the plant facilities and grounds.
Other responsibilities
Technical support: Assist with the design and modification of plant processes and systems, and support the implementation of new operational protocols.
Reporting: Prepare technical reports for senior management and regulatory agencies.
Budget and resource management: Assist with preparing the annual maintenance budget and managing manpower and spare parts.
Collaboration: Work with other departments, junior staff, and senior engineers to troubleshoot issues and improve plant efficiency.
