Job Title: Sales officer

Location: Lucknow, Purulia, Birbhum Jhargram, Durgapur, Medinipur, Uttrakhand, Punjab, Siwan, Sambalpur, Ambika pur, Nagpur

 

Job Summary:

As a Sales Officer you will be responsible for driving sales growth, building and maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring achievement of sales targets in your assigned territory. You will represent range of edible oil products to modern trade, wholesale distributors, and retail outlets, while providing excellent market feedback and after-sales support.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales & Business Development

·       Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for assigned products.

·       Develop and expand customer base through proactive sales activities.

·       Identify new business opportunities, distributors, and key accounts.

·       Prepare and execute sales plans and strategies.

·       Customer Relationship Management

·       Build strong and lasting relationships with distributors, retailers, and other channel partners.

·       Conduct regular visits to customers and ensure high service standards.

·       Address customer queries, feedback, and complaints promptly.

 

3. Market Analysis & Reporting

·       Collect and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer buying behavior.

·       Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reports to Sales Manager.

·       Recommend pricing, promotions, and product placement strategies based on market insights.

 

4. Trade Promotion & Merchandising

·       Coordinate with marketing on promotions, campaigns, and product launches.

·       Ensure visibility, correct pricing, and shelf placement of BP Oil Mills products at retail outlets.

·       Monitor competitor promotions in the market.

 

5. Documentation & Administration

 

·       Maintain up-to-date records of sales orders, customer data, deliveries, and payments.

·       Coordinate with internal teams logistics, billing, and customer support for smooth order fulfillment.

·       Prepare daily/weekly sales activity reports.

·       Required Skills & Competencies

·       Strong sales and negotiation skills.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·       Customer-focused with a proactive attitude.

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·       Good planning, organization, and time-management skills.

·       Basic computer literacy (MS Office, CRM tools desirable).

 

Qualifications & Experience:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred).

·       1–3 years of experience in sales — FMCG / edible oil / consumer goods preferred.

·       Experience handling distributors and retail channels is an advantage.
