Job Description

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing sales operations within a specific geographic area. This role focuses on achieving sales targets, building strong customer relationships, and driving business growth. The ASM leads a team of sales representatives, ensures proper market coverage, and implements strategic plans to increase revenue and market presence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet monthly and quarterly targets.

  • Lead, motivate, and monitor the performance of the sales team.

  • Identify new business opportunities and potential markets within the assigned area.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, dealers, retailers, and key customers.

  • Ensure proper product availability and visibility across the market.

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to improve sales performance.

  • Conduct regular market visits to supervise sales activities and resolve issues.

  • Provide sales reports, forecasts, and updates to senior management.

  • Organize training sessions for the sales team to enhance product knowledge and selling skills.

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, pricing strategies, and promotional guidelines.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).

  • 2–5 years of experience in sales, preferably in FMCG, retail, or related industries.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to analyze sales data and create actionable strategies.

  • Problem-solving attitude with strong negotiation skills.

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area.
