About Solgen Greentech LLP
Solgen Greentech LLP is a Solar PV EPC company established in 2014, headquartered in Malad West, Mumbai. We are empanelled with MSEDCL, AEML, and Tata Power and specialize in rooftop solar power plant design, supply, installation, and commissioning for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) clients across Maharashtra. Our projects range from 10 kWp to 500+ kWp and include Cooperative Housing Societies (CHS), commercial offices, factories, warehouses, and industrial units.
Role Summary
We are looking for a sharp, self-motivated Sales Executive with a technical mindset to drive business growth in the C&I rooftop solar segment. This is a full-cycle technical sales role — from lead generation and site feasibility to proposal preparation, client presentations, and deal closure support. The candidate owns the client relationship through the entire pre-sales cycle and transitions closed projects cleanly to the Operations team for execution.
This is a field-first role. It demands active prospecting, client-facing confidence, and the ability to communicate solar techno-commercial concepts clearly and persuasively.
Sales Workflow – Stage-by-Stage Ownership
Stage 1: Lead Generation & Qualification
• Proactively generate leads through field visits, referrals, housing society networks, industry contacts, and LinkedIn
• Work on warm leads and introductions provided by the company and the Managing Partner
• Qualify leads based on rooftop/ground area, energy consumption, electricity bill, sanctioned load, DISCOM connection type, and ownership status
• Maintain an updated lead pipeline and report progress to the Managing Partner on a regular basis
Stage 2: Client Outreach & Site Visit
• Make the first contact with the prospect via call, WhatsApp, or email and fix an appointment for a site visit
• Conduct the initial site visit independently — inspect rooftop/ground area, assess shading conditions, structural feasibility, and meter room / electrical room layout
• Collect electricity bills and other technical data required for system sizing and tariff analysis
• Prepare a structured site visit report and feasibility note with findings, observations, and recommended solar system capacity
Stage 3: Proposal & Initial Design Preparation
• Prepare techno-commercial solar proposals using Solgen’s standard proposal format and templates
• Coordinate with the internal team and Managing Partner for accurate BOQ, system design, and commercial inputs
• Prepare initial solar layout / shadow analysis using tools such as OpenSolar, SketchUp, or similar (basic proficiency acceptable)
• Prepare ROI tables, 10-year savings projection, and payback analysis tailored to the client’s bill and tariff structure
• Ensure all proposals are accurate, professionally presented, and submitted within committed timelines
Stage 4: Proposal Presentation & First-Level Client Meetings
• Share the proposal with the client via email and WhatsApp with a clear covering note
• Present the proposal to the client in a face-to-face or virtual meeting — covering system design, technology, financial savings, ROI, DISCOM process, and subsidy eligibility
• Handle client questions, clarifications, and first-level objections confidently
• Follow up persistently and professionally at regular intervals to keep the client engaged
• Conduct multiple rounds of discussion as required to build client conviction
Stage 5: Convince Client & Escalate for Final Closure
• Work towards convincing the client on the value proposition of going solar with Solgen
• Once the client shows strong buying intent or requests final terms, bring in the Managing Partner for the final technical discussion and commercial negotiation
• Assist in coordinating revised or final proposals if requested by the client or Managing Partner
• Support the Managing Partner through the closing meeting, work order signing, and advance collection
Stage 6: Handover to Operations
• Upon deal closure, prepare a comprehensive project handover document covering all client and site details
• Introduce the client to the Operations Manager and facilitate a smooth transition for execution
• Brief the Operations team on client expectations, site conditions, committed timelines, and any special requirements
• Remain accessible to the client during early project execution if required for relationship continuity
Key Responsibilities at a Glance
• Lead generation through field visits, referrals, cold outreach, LinkedIn, and networking
• Working on company-provided leads and converting them into site visits and proposals
• Independently conducting site visits and preparing feasibility and site visit reports
• Preparing solar techno-commercial proposals, initial layouts, and ROI projections
• Sending proposals and conducting first-level client presentations and meetings
• Convincing and educating clients on the financial and environmental benefits of solar
• Looping in the Managing Partner at the right stage for final negotiation and closure
• Clean and documented handover of closed projects to the Operations Manager
• Maintaining live CRM / pipeline tracker with accurate status updates
• Meeting monthly lead generation and quarterly deal conversion targets
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Knowledge
• Sound understanding of Solar PV systems — on-grid, net metering, open access, and group net metering
• Familiarity with key system components — solar modules, string inverters, mounting structures, ACDB/DCDB, and metering
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze electricity bills (sanctioned load, contract demand, TOD tariff structure)
• Basic ability to prepare or review system layouts using OpenSolar or similar design tools
• Working knowledge of C&I project sizing, ROI calculation, and payback period analysis
• Awareness of MSEDCL, AEML, and Tata Power net metering regulations and application process
Sales & Communication
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, Hindi, and Marathi (Gujarati is an advantage)
• Confident, consultative, and persuasive sales approach — ability to build trust quickly
• Ability to simplify and explain solar techno-commercial concepts to non-technical decision-makers
• Strong follow-up discipline and structured pipeline management habits
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for proposals and client reporting
• Comfortable using WhatsApp Business, email, and LinkedIn for professional client communication
Behavioural Traits
• Self-starter — plans and executes daily fieldwork without hand-holding
• Target-oriented with a hunger for results and closures
• Honest, presentable, and professional in all client-facing interactions
• Resilient and persistent — ability to handle rejection and keep the pipeline moving
• Willingness to travel within Mumbai and occasionally to project sites across Maharashtra
Educational Qualification
• B.E. / Diploma in Electrical Engineering — Preferred
• MBA in Sales or Marketing with demonstrated solar domain experience — Acceptable
• Any graduation with a strong solar sales track record will be considered on merit
Experience
• Minimum 1 year of proven experience in Solar Project Sales — C&I or Rooftop segment
• Demonstrated track record of independently generating leads and converting them to site visits and proposals
• Experience handling projects in the range of 25 kWp to 500+ kWp is preferred
• Prior experience with Solar EPC companies, DISCOM-empanelled contractors, or solar developers preferred
• Candidates from electrical sales backgrounds (transformers, DG sets, switchgear) who have shifted to solar will also be considered
Compensation & Benefits
Fixed Salary
₹ 35,000 – ₹ 40,000 per month (in-hand, based on experience)
Travelling Expenses
Reimbursed against actuals — local conveyance and inter-city when applicable
Variable Incentive
Project closure-linked incentive — structure and slabs discussed at interview stage
Performance Review
Review at 6 months; salary revision linked to lead conversion and closure targets
Location Requirement
This position is strictly open to candidates residing in Mumbai. Preference will be given to candidates from the Western Suburbs (Churchgate to Virar corridor on the Western Railway line), given the concentration of Solgen’s client base in this geography. Candidates residing outside Mumbai will not be considered for this role.
