Field Coordinator

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Project Planning and Implementation

• Develop and execute project work plans in alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.

• Coordinate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, nurses, and outreach teams to organize eye camps, screenings, and surgeries.

• Ensure availability of necessary equipment, supplies, and logistics for eye care activities.

• Support the development and implementation of community awareness and health education campaigns on eye health.

2. Coordination and Communication

• Act as the central contact point between internal departments (clinical, outreach, finance, logistics) and external partners (government, NGOs, donors).

• Schedule and facilitate project meetings, workshops, and coordination forums.

• Maintain effective communication channels to ensure timely updates and smooth collaboration among stakeholders.

3. Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)

• Track project progress against set targets (e.g., number of screenings, surgeries, trainings).

• Collect and analyze data from clinics and outreach programs.

• Prepare regular reports, including progress, financial, and impact reports, for management and donors.

• Assist in conducting field visits and quality assessments of eye care services.

4. Financial and Resource Management

• Work with finance teams to prepare budgets and monitor expenditure.

• Ensure efficient use of project funds in compliance with donor and organizational policies.

• Support procurement of eye care equipment, consumables, and medicines.

5. Capacity Building

• Organize training programs for healthcare workers, community volunteers, and vision technicians.

• Facilitate mentorship and continuous professional development activities for eye care staff.

• Support knowledge sharing and documentation of best practices.

6. Community Engagement

• Collaborate with community leaders, schools, and health workers to identify eye care needs.

• Plan and coordinate outreach activities in underserved communities.

• Promote inclusion and access for vulnerable groups (children, elderly, people with disabilities).

7. Reporting and Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of project activities, beneficiaries, and outcomes.

• Prepare reports for donors, government agencies, and organizational leadership.

• Contribute to visibility materials—case studies, success stories, and newsletters.
