1–5 years in field collections (NBFC/Fintech/Bank) – unsecured/personal/payday loans preferred.
About the Role
The Field Collections Officer will be responsible for end-to-end collection activities for short-term payday loans with an average ticket size of ₹35,000 and loan tenure of 15–45 days. The role requires strong field follow-ups, negotiation skills, and local market understanding.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collection Execution
Visit customers for overdue/payday loan collections within allocated PIN codes.
Explain outstanding dues, charges, and repayment options clearly.
Collect payments through digital modes and ensure real-time updates.
Maintain daily follow-up tracker and collection MIS.
2. Negotiation & Settlement
Negotiate with customers to close delinquent accounts with minimal losses.
Understand customer financial condition and work out solutions within policy.
Promote early payment benefits and avoid legal escalations.
3. Legal & Compliance
Support legal team with on-ground verification for hard buckets.
Coordinate delivery and acknowledgment of notices (if applicable).
Ensure all collections are as per RBI & internal compliance guidelines.
4. Customer Handling
Handle customer objections professionally and maintain dignity.
Liaison with neighbours, employers, local contacts when required.
Escalate risky/critical cases immediately to the reporting manager.
5. Documentation
Maintain visit reports, receipts, settlement letters, and payment proofs.
Update CRM/app on real-time basis for every customer interaction.
Submit daily report to team lead/collection manager.
Required Skills & Qualification
Minimum 12th Pass, Graduation preferred.
Local Language Fluency is Mandatory
(Hindi + Regional language such as Marathi/Kannada/Tamil/Telugu/Bengali etc.)
Good knowledge of the local geography and customer profile.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Basic smartphone usage and CRM/app reporting.
Two-wheeler with valid driving license (preferred).
