Field Executive / Data Collector (Freelance Project)

This is a field-based research project involving visits to assigned locations across Ranchi and filling structured questionnaires through a mobile survey application.
Supervisors will review all submissions. Only approved entries will count toward the daily target.
Role 1: Hospitality Venue Survey [4 openings]
The data collector will visit restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and hotels as a mystery shopper, pretending to be a customer and observing:
• Presence and compliance of Designated Smoking Areas (DSA)
• Compliance with ban on hookah services in hospitality venues
The data collector will visit approximately 180–200 hospitality venues and complete a structured questionnaire after each visit.
Role 2: Walking Protocol Survey (6 Openings)
The data collectors will visit government offices, hospitals, and educational institutions.
The objective is to assess:
• Compliance with restrictions on tobacco sales within 100 meters of educational institutions, hospitals, and government offices
• Presence of Section 6B signage prohibiting tobacco sales within 100 meters
Data collectors will follow a walking protocol:
Reach the assigned institution
Walk within a 100-meter radius around the venue
Observe whether tobacco products are being sold within the radius
Record observations and complete the questionnaire on the survey app
Each data collector will visit approximately 180–200 locations during the project.
Eligibility
• Age: 20–35 years preferred
• Graduate (mandatory)
• Fluent in Hindi and English
• Prior experience in data collection, field surveys, or research preferred
• Must own a bike/scooter for commuting within the city
• Must own a smartphone (Android preferred) for filling digital survey forms
• Good observation and reporting skills
Work Nature
This is fully field-based work involving travel within the city and walking between locations.
Candidates must be comfortable with visiting different types of venues and conducting observation-based surveys.
Working Hours
Split shift:
🕛 12:00 PM – 3:30 PM
🌙 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Candidates should also be comfortable working evenings and weekends when required, especially for hospitality venue visits.
Pay Structure
Training (2 Days – In Person)
₹800 per day
Daily Target:
8 approved entries
Daily Pay:
₹1000 per day
(₹125 per approved entry)
Example:
• 8 approved entries → ₹1000
• 6 approved entries → ₹750
Total Project Earnings
Approximate total earnings:
₹26,600 – ₹31,600
(Training + 25–30 days of fieldwork)
Reimbursements
• Travel expenses reimbursed
• Food expenses reimbursed as per actual bills (same day reimbursement)
Payment Timeline
All salary-related payments will be cleared after the project is completed.
If a selected candidate drops out before completing the project, payments will be forfeited.
