We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive growth in the solar energy sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of solar power solutions (rooftop/commercial/utility-scale), market trends, and customer needs. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and increasing sales revenue.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the residential, commercial, and industrial solar segments.

  • Generate leads through market research, cold calls, networking, and industry events.

  • Understand client requirements and propose suitable solar energy solutions.

  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and financial models for clients.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, EPC contractors, consultants, and government bodies.

  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Track market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting the solar industry.

  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.

  • Represent the company at trade shows, expos, and renewable energy forums.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Renewable Energy, or related field (MBA preferred).

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in sales or business development in the solar or renewable energy sector.

  • Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems, net metering, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Proven ability to close deals and meet revenue targets.

  • Proficient in CRM tools, MS Office, and sales analytics.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.


Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of state and national solar policies and subsidies.

  • Experience in dealing with government tenders or rooftop solar projects.
