Business Development Manager – Publisher & Institutional Partnerships
Kolkata (with travel across West Bengal and other cities as required)
MyPustak is a fast-growing online bookstore committed to making books affordable and accessible to everyone. We partner with publishers, distributors, schools, and communities to promote reading culture across India.
We are looking for a highly driven Business Development Manager who will expand MyPustak’s supply network and institutional sales. This role involves onboarding publishers, reputed distributors, and wholesalers, while also building strong relationships with schools, societies, and communities to organize book fairs and secure library orders.
This is a high ownership, revenue-focused role ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people, negotiating deals, and building long-term partnerships.
Identify and onboard publishers, distributors, and book wholesalers onto the MyPustak supplier network.
Negotiate commercial terms, margins, credit periods, and supply agreements.
Build long-term relationships with key supply partners.
Ensure consistent inventory flow and competitive pricing.
Develop relationships with schools, educational institutions, libraries, housing societies, and community groups.
Generate bulk orders for school libraries and institutional buyers.
Plan and execute book fairs in schools, residential complexes, and community events.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
Create a strong local network within the education ecosystem.
Identify new revenue opportunities through partnerships and events.
Represent MyPustak at industry events, education expos, and trade fairs.
Maintain a pipeline of partners and institutional leads.
Track conversions, revenue generated, and partnership performance.
Provide market insights on pricing, competition, and demand trends.
3–7 years of experience in business development, institutional sales, or publisher/distributor relations.
Strong network within publishers, distributors, or schools is a major advantage.
Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Comfortable with fieldwork and travel.
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset.
Passion for books and education is a plus.
