Tailor – Prikshi by Priya Chitawat
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Tailor to join our team at Prikshi by Priya Chitawat, a fashion label specialising in contemporary Indian ethnic wear.
The ideal candidate should have strong practical experience in garment construction, cutting, stitching and pattern making, with an eye for fitting and finishing. The role will involve creating samples and finished garments based on designs and measurements provided by the designer.
Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹25,000 per month (in-hand), depending on skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cut and stitch garments according to measurements, patterns and designs.
- Create and modify patterns for different garment styles.
- Make samples and prototypes for new designs.
- Handle fitting, alterations and finishing of garments.
- Work with fabrics commonly used in Indian ethnic wear.
- Ensure accurate measurements and good garment fit.
- Carry out detailed stitching and finishing work.
- Coordinate with the designer during sample development and revisions.
- Handle embroidery and other garment detailing when required.
- Maintain quality and consistency in finished garments.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 1–3 years of practical tailoring experience.
- Strong skills in stitching, cutting and measurement.
- Good knowledge of pattern making and garment construction.
- Experience in making Indian ethnic wear such as kurtas, Anarkalis, dresses, suits, Lehenga etc.
- Ability to make samples independently from measurements and design references.
- Good understanding of fabrics, fitting and garment finishing.
- Experience with embroidery will be an advantage.
- Ability to work with sewing machines and handle alterations confidently.
- Formal education is not mandatory; practical tailoring skills and experience are more important.
