Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, responsible, and result-oriented Merchandiser to join our team. The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of the garment/textile industry, strong communication and coordination skills, and the ability to manage orders from development to final shipment.
The Merchandiser will act as a key link between buyers, suppliers, production, quality, and internal teams to ensure that orders are completed on time, according to buyer requirements, quality standards, and agreed costs.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Coordinate with buyers and understand their requirements, specifications, and expectations.
Develop and follow up on samples, styles, fabrics, trims, and accessories.
Prepare and maintain Tech Packs, Order Sheets, Cost Sheets, T&A Sheets, and other merchandising documents.
Coordinate with production, sampling, purchase, quality, finishing, and dispatch departments.
Follow up on fabric, trims, accessories, and other raw materials to ensure timely availability.
Monitor order status from product development to final shipment.
Ensure that production is carried out according to approved samples, measurements, specifications, and quality standards.
Communicate regularly with buyers regarding order status, approvals, changes, and delivery schedules.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors and negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms when required.
Prepare costing and assist in developing competitive pricing for products.
Monitor production timelines and identify potential delays or issues in advance.
Coordinate sample approvals and ensure timely submission to buyers.
Work closely with the Quality Department to resolve quality-related issues.
Maintain accurate records of orders, samples, approvals, production status, and shipment details.
Prepare regular order status reports, production reports, and management updates.
Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activities to support product development.
Ensure timely dispatch and shipment of completed orders as per customer requirements.
Handle customer queries and provide appropriate solutions in coordination with the management.
Identify and report potential risks, delays, quality issues, and cost variations to management.
Maintain professional relationships with buyers, suppliers, vendors, and internal departments.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Graduate degree in Fashion, Textile, Apparel, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in garment/textile merchandising will be preferred.
Good knowledge of garment manufacturing and production processes.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Good knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and email communication.
Ability to prepare and maintain reports and merchandising documents.
Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple styles/orders simultaneously.
