JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Senior Fashion Designer – Product Development & Execution
Company: Kubera Studios LLP

Working Hours: 10:30 AM – 7:30 PM (Flexible as per production needs)
Working Days: Monday to Saturday
Compensation: 25,000/- to 40,000/
Role Summary
End-to-end ownership of design → sampling → execution → production
readiness.
Hands-on garment construction and real factory-floor execution required.
Strong exposure to embroidery, lace development, handwork processes, and
vendors.
Frequent travel across Mumbai and India for sourcing, sampling, and
innovation.
Team-based working with multiple designers, tailors, and sample makers.
High accountability, flexible hours, and performance-driven environment.
Ability to design digitally on iPads / tablets and use modern tools for fast
ideation, editing, and design development on the go.⸻
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development
Create original designs, collections, and product concepts.
Make mood boards, color stories, fabric maps, and embroidery layouts.
Digitally sketch and develop designs using iPads, tablets, and modern design
tools.
Quickly copy, modify, remix, and evolve design references into fresh
commercial products.
Convert ideas into technically executable garments.
Technical & Execution
Strong knowledge of garment construction, stitching, fit, finishing, and
corrections.
Supervise embroidery (ari, zardozi, handwork), lace development, and surface
techniques.
Guide karigars, tailors, and sample masters for accuracy and quality.
Manage sampling, fittings, alterations, and approvals.
Sourcing & Vendor Handling
Strong knowledge of Mumbai handwork, embroidery, lace, and fabric
suppliers.
Visit markets, vendors, and factories regularly.
Travel across India for sampling, sourcing, and product development.
Coordinate timelines, quality, feasibility, and costing with vendors.Team & Operations
Work closely with multiple designers in shared responsibility.
Manage in-house tailors and sample teams.
Maintain discipline, timelines, and execution standards.
Quality & Trends
Maintain strict quality control from sample to production.
Stay updated on modern materials, trends, techniques, and innovations.
Experment with new fabrics, methods, constructions, and digital workflows
Skills & Requirements
Proven experience as a Fashion Designer (ethnic / production background
preferred).
Strong hands-on garment making knowledge (not only sketching).
Strong ability to draw and design on iPads / tablets using modern design
software.
Ability to rapidly adapt, copy references intelligently, and create differentiated
versions.
Deep understanding of embroidery, handwork, lace, and surface
development.
Strong vendor network knowledge in Mumbai markets preferred.
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours when required.
Strong coordination, leadership, and execution mindset.
High attention to detail and quality orientation.
Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines.
Portfolio mandatory (digital work preferred).
