Fashion designer

Job description:

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Fashion Designer with prior experience working in Mumbai’s fast-paced fashion industry. The ideal candidate should be passionate about design, familiar with the latest trends, and enthusiastic about relocating or working in Surat’s growing textile and fashion sector.Key Responsibilities:

• Develop new designs for women’s wear (as per specialization), keeping current fashion trends in mind.

• Create mood boards, color palettes, fabric swatches, and sketches using CAD or manual illustration.

• Collaborate with the merchandising, sampling, and production teams.

• Supervise sample development and ensure design integrity is maintained through production.

• Coordinate with Mumbai buyers or brands if applicable, for custom design development.

• Participate in exhibitions, buyer meetings, and design presentations.

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Fashion Design (NIFT, Pearl, INIFD, or equivalent).

• Minimum 3 years of industry experience, with exposure to Mumbai’s fashion/export industry.

• Strong knowledge of fabrics, printing techniques, embroidery, and garment construction.

• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CorelDRAW.

• Open to relocation or long-term work in Surat.

• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Western or ethnic wear designing

• Vendor or factory coordination (especially with Surat textile ecosystem)

• Trend forecasting and design research abilities

• Knowledge of textile surface embellishment and value addition
