Multi-Skilled Technician ( MST)

Job Summary:

We are hiring a qualified and experienced Multi-Skilled Electrical Technician to support our Data Center's critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of Diesel Generator (DG) Sets, Transformers, HT/LT Breakers, and UPS Systems. The role demands high reliability, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work in a mission-critical, high-availability environment.

Educational Qualifications & Experience:

• ITI (Electrical) with minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical systems
  OR

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 2 years of relevant experience

Experience must include exposure to DG sets, UPS systems, HT/LT panels, and general electrical maintenance within industrial or facility settings, preferably in a Data Center or similar high-uptime environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain:

  • Diesel Generator (DG) sets

  • HT/LT panels, switchgear, and circuit breakers

  • Transformers and associated protection systems

  • UPS systems and battery banks

  • Power Distribution Units (PDU) and related electrical infrastructure

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.

• Monitor electrical systems and ensure 24/7 uptime for data center operations.

• Respond to faults, alarms, and outages in a timely and effective manner.

• Maintain operation logs, checklists, fault registers, and maintenance records.

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory requirements.

• Assist in installation and commissioning of electrical infrastructure.

• Coordinate with vendors and OEMs for servicing of critical systems.

• Support energy efficiency and sustainability practices.

Skills & Competencies:

• Sound knowledge of DG set operation and maintenance

• Strong understanding of HT/LT electrical distribution systems

• Proficiency in UPS system maintenance and battery handling

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and single-line diagrams

• Familiarity with safety protocols such as LOTO and PPE compliance

• Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

• Basic computer skills for log entry and reporting

Preferred Certifications:

• Electrical Workman or Supervisor License (if applicable)

• Electrical Safety Training (LOTO, PPE, Fire Safety)

• Basic awareness of BMS (Building Management System) is an advantage

• It is a Full Time Electrician job for candidates with 2 - 5 years of experience.
