Job Purpose
To support site engineers and supervisors in execution, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems related to substations, transformers, switchgear, and allied equipment.
Key Responsibilities
For ITI Electronics Technicians
· Assist in testing and commissioning of control & relay panels, protection systems, meters, and SCADA interfaces
· Support installation, wiring, and troubleshooting of control cables, sensors, and electronic devices
· Carry out relay testing, signal checking, and functional verification as per drawings and standards
· Assist in maintenance activities and fault analysis of electronic and control systems in substations
· Perform domestic and industrial wiring, including control panel wiring
· Read and understand control panel drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
· Support troubleshooting of control panels and field instrumentation
· Possess basic knowledge of transformers, motors, and pumps, including operation and common faults
· Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures, work permits, and PPE usage
· Maintain test records, checklists, and commissioning reports
Key Responsibilities:
For ITI Mechanical Technicians
· ssist in erection, alignment, installation, and maintenance of transformers, circuit breakers, isolators, and other mechanical assemblies
· Support overhauling, retrofitting, and refurbishment works of substation and plant equipment
· Handle hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment, and assist during shutdown and breakdown activities
· Perform routine inspections, lubrication, tightening, and mechanical adjustments as per maintenance schedules
· Assist in assembly-line and pipeline work, including proper fitting and alignment
· Support finished product quality inspection and testing as per quality standards and checklists
· Identify and report mechanical defects, wear, and misalignment
· Ensure strict adherence to site safety norms, PPE usage, and work instructions
· Maintain basic work logs, inspection records, and maintenance reports
Eligibility Criteria
ITI Electronics / ITI Mechanical (NCVT / SCVT recognized)
Freshers or 1–5 years of relevant site experience preferred
Willingness to work at outstation project sites
Physically fit for site work and shift duties
Desired Skills & Competencies
Basic understanding of substation equipment and industrial systems
Ability to read drawings, layouts, and basic technical documents
Willingness to learn and work under site engineers
Discipline, teamwork, and safety-oriented mindset
Basic communication skills
