- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment in buildings, homes, and factories.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents to understand electrical system layouts and requirements.
- Ensure all electrical work is done in accordance with safety standards, building codes, and regulations.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, and perform repairs and replacements as needed.
- Install and test electrical wiring, circuits, and devices, such as switches, outlets, and lighting fixtures.
- Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as electricians, engineers, and contractors, to complete projects efficiently.
- Use hand and power tools, such as drill presses, wire strippers, and multimeters, to perform electrical work.
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and developments in electrical systems and equipment.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an apprenticeship or vocational training program in electrical work
- Valid electrical license (if required by state or local government)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
