Installation & Commissioning: Perform proper physical positioning, electrical wiring connection, and startup testing of APC Schneider UPS systems according to OEM standards.
Preventive Maintenance (PM): Conduct regular health checks on installed UPS units. This includes checking input/output voltages, calibrating parameters, inspecting internal components for wear, cleaning dust filters, and updating maintenance logs.
Battery Bank Management: Test, measure, and log individual battery voltages, internal resistance, and overall health of external SMF/VRLA battery banks. Handle battery replacements safely.
Breakdown & Troubleshooting: Respond to emergency breakdown calls. Diagnose faults down to the component or card level (inverters, rectifiers, static switches) using multimeters, clamp meters, and diagnostic software tools.
Reporting & Documentation: Prepare clear and accurate Field Service Reports (FSRs) after every call. Obtain customer sign-offs and update the internal CRM or service portal promptly.
Customer Handling: Clearly explain technical issues to corporate clients, IT managers, or site engineers, offering proper guidance on the safe daily operation of their power systems.
Technical Skills & Competencies
Electrical Fundamentals: Solid understanding of AC/DC circuits, single-phase and three-phase power distribution lines, phase balancing, and earthing/grounding norms.
Schematic Reading: Ability to read, interpret, and trace electrical circuit diagrams, wiring layouts, and single-line diagrams (SLDs).
Tools Proficiency: Skilled in using digital multimeters, clamp-on meters, insulation testers (meggers), battery testers, and basic hand tools.
Safety Adherence: Strict compliance with electrical safety protocols (lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment usage) while working on live or charged equipment.
