Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Marine Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment onboard ships and offshore structures. The candidate should have experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, or marine projects and be capable of working as per marine standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, test, and commission electrical systems onboard ships.
Perform cable laying, glanding, termination, and panel wiring.
Install and connect switchboards, distribution boards, lighting systems, and control panels.
Carry out maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical faults.
Read and interpret electrical drawings and technical diagrams.
Ensure compliance with marine classification standards and safety regulations.
Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other departments.
Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Follow safety procedures and use proper PPE at site.
Technical Skills Required:
Knowledge of marine electrical systems.
Experience in cable tray installation and routing.
Familiarity with AC/DC systems onboard vessels.
Ability to use electrical testing instruments (multimeter, megger, etc.).
Basic knowledge of PLC systems (preferred).
Understanding of shipyard safety standards.
Qualification & Experience:
ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in shipbuilding or ship repair industry.
Experience working in shipyards is preferred.
