Job Title

Wireman – CCTV & Fire Alarm Systems

Job Summary

The Wireman is responsible for installation, laying, termination, and maintenance of cables and wiring systems for CCTV, fire alarm, and other ELV systems at construction sites. The role involves working closely with technicians and engineers to ensure proper wiring and connectivity of all systems.

Wiremen typically handle installation, maintenance, and repair of wiring systems and ensure safe and efficient operation of electrical systems.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1️⃣ Cable Laying & Wiring Work

Perform cable laying, routing, and dressing for CCTV and fire alarm systems.

Pull cables such as CAT6, coaxial, and fire alarm cables through conduits and trays.

Install and fix conduits, trunking, and cable trays.

2️⃣ Termination & Connection

Carry out cable termination and crimping (RJ45, BNC, fire alarm loops).

Connect wiring to devices like cameras, detectors, panels, and switches.

Ensure proper labeling and identification of cables.

Wiremen connect and install wiring systems based on diagrams and ensure proper circuit connections.

3️⃣ Installation Support

Assist in installation of CCTV cameras, fire alarm devices, and control panels.

Support technicians during system installation and commissioning.

Mount junction boxes and assist in device fixing.

4️⃣ Testing & Troubleshooting

Check wiring continuity and basic faults.

Assist in testing of systems and identify wiring issues.

Repair or replace damaged cables when required.

Wiremen also inspect systems and fix defective wiring or components.

5️⃣ Site Coordination

Follow instructions from technicians, supervisors, and engineers.

Work as per drawings, BOQ, and site requirements.

Coordinate with other teams at site for smooth work execution.

6️⃣ Safety & Housekeeping

Follow electrical safety standards and PPE requirements.

Maintain tools and keep work area clean.

Ensure proper handling of cables and equipment.

Wiremen must follow safety codes and regulations to ensure safe electrical systems.

Requirements

ITI / Diploma in Electrical or relevant trade (preferred)

Basic knowledge of wiring, cabling, and electrical tools

Experience in CCTV / Fire Alarm / ELV projects preferred

Ability to read basic drawings and layouts

Reporting To

Technician / Site Supervisor / ELV Engineer

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of CAT6 crimping, conduit bending, and cable routing

Experience in construction site work

Basic understanding of CCTV and fire alarm systems

comfortable for relocation to Mumbai /Ahmedabad
