Job Description

Safe Operation: Driving heavy trucks for extended periods, monitoring road conditions, and following all traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Vehicle Maintenance: Performing daily inspections (brakes, tires, lights, fuel, oil) and reporting mechanical issues or scheduling maintenance at authorized workshops.
Cargo Management: Ensuring goods are loaded securely to prevent damage, maneuvering trucks into loading positions, and verifying cargo loads.
Documentation & Logs: Maintaining accurate records of cargo, mileage, fuel consumption, and driving/rest periods using electronic logging devices (ELDs) or paper logs.
Route Planning: Planning efficient routes based on traffic, weather conditions, and delivery deadlines.
Communication & Professionalism: Reporting to dispatchers, maintaining communication with clients, and representing the company professionally. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10]
