Social Media Manager
GP Media | Santacruz West, Mumbai
Full-Time, On-Site | 1–2+ Years Experience
About GP Media
GP Media is a digital-first media company building and managing original content brands across music, entertainment, culture and social-impact storytelling. We are looking for a hands-on, digitally savvy Social Media Manager who can take ownership of our social media presence and help build our brands, audiences and digital businesses.
The Role
We are looking for someone who lives and breathes social media, particularly Instagram and YouTube, and understands not just how to post content, but how to build audiences, drive engagement, run campaigns, analyze performance and continuously improve results. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable developing a content strategy, operating social platforms, coordinating content deliverables, setting up paid campaigns and presenting clear performance reports.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the day-to-day social media function across Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and other relevant platforms.
• Develop and execute social media strategies, content calendars and campaign plans for GP Media's brands.
• Stay on top of the latest social media trends, formats, algorithms, features, creator trends and audience behavior.
• Identify opportunities to increase reach, engagement, followers, watch time and overall audience growth.
• Manage publishing, scheduling, captions, hashtags, thumbnails, descriptions, tagging and platform optimization.
• Develop and execute Instagram Reels, Stories, YouTube Shorts and YouTube content strategies.
• Understand YouTube channel growth, including SEO, titles, thumbnails, retention, watch time, CTR and audience analytics.
• Plan, execute and optimize Meta advertising campaigns across Instagram and Facebook.
• Set up and manage Google/YouTube Ads campaigns and understand campaign objectives, targeting, budgets and optimization.
• Monitor campaign performance and make data-driven decisions to improve ROI and cost efficiency.
• Track and analyze platform analytics and advertising data and translate them into clear, actionable insights.
• Prepare regular social media and campaign performance reports, including key metrics, learnings and recommendations.
• Develop and manage budgets and media spends and ensure campaigns remain within approved budgets.
• Coordinate with designers, video editors, content creators and other internal/external resources to ensure timely delivery of content.
• Maintain clear content calendars, campaign trackers, deliverable schedules and performance dashboards.
• Research competitors, emerging creators, formats and trends to identify new opportunities.
• Experiment with new content formats, platforms and growth strategies and measure their effectiveness.
• Take complete ownership of deadlines, deliverables and outcomes related to the social media function.
What We're Looking For
• 1–2+ years of hands-on experience managing social media for brands, agencies, creators or media companies.
• Strong practical knowledge of Instagram, YouTube and Facebook.
• Experience with Meta Ads Manager and paid social campaigns.
• Working knowledge of Google Ads/YouTube Ads.
• Strong understanding of social media analytics and campaign performance metrics.
• Good understanding of YouTube Studio, Meta Business Suite/Ads Manager and relevant analytics tools.
• Strong grasp of content trends, algorithms, audience growth and social-media best practices.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple brands, campaigns and deadlines simultaneously.
• Ability to convert analytics into clear recommendations and actionable strategies.
• Strong written communication skills, particularly for captions, social copy and campaign communication.
• A proactive, curious and hands-on approach—we are looking for someone who figures things out rather than waiting to be told what to do.
The Ideal Candidate
You don't need to be a traditional “social media executive” who simply schedules posts. We are looking for someone who can look at a piece of content and ask: “How do we make this perform better?”
Someone who understands the difference between content that gets posted and content that gets consumed.
Someone who follows what is happening across Instagram and YouTube every day, understands why certain content works, knows how to use paid media intelligently, and can back up their decisions with data.
Most importantly, you will be expected to take ownership of the function and its results.
What You'll Get
• The opportunity to work across multiple original media and content brands.
• Significant ownership and responsibility in building our digital presence.
• Exposure to content creation, digital marketing, paid media, analytics and audience development.
• A fast-moving environment where experimentation and new ideas are encouraged.
• The opportunity to grow with a developing media company and take on increasing responsibility.
