Key Responsibilities
Manage Transport Operations: Oversee the inbound and outbound transport operations, ensuring timely and accurate receipt of raw goods and dispatch of finished products.
Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of drivers and logistics personnel, providing coaching and guidance to meet performance targets and deadlines.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all team members adhere to safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe driving practices.
Performance Management: Conduct regular performance appraisals, identify training needs, and implement development plans for team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including suppliers and internal departments, to ensure smooth operations and effective communication throughout the transport process.
Documentation and Reporting: Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and promptly, maintaining records of transport activities and compliance with regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Educational Background: A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is often preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in logistics or transport management, with a proven track record of leading teams and managing operations effectively.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in logistics software and systems, as well as strong analytical skills to optimize transport processes and solve logistical challenges.
