Dispatcher

The Delivery Dispatcher coordinates and manages the flow of outgoing delivery orders, ensuring drivers are assigned efficiently, routes are optimized, and customers receive their food promptly and accurately. This role acts as the communication hub between the kitchen, delivery drivers, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign incoming delivery orders to available drivers based on location, order readiness, and driver capacity

• Monitor order status in real time using POS/delivery management software

• Communicate with kitchen staff to confirm order completion times

• Track driver locations and estimated delivery times; adjust routes as needed for efficiency

• Resolve delivery issues (delays, wrong addresses, customer complaints) quickly and professionally

• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and driver performance

• Coordinate with third-party delivery platforms when applicable

• Ensure compliance with food safety standards during transport (temperature control, packaging)

• Manage driver schedules and coverage, including shift swaps or call-offs

• Provide clear directions and delivery instructions to drivers, especially for unfamiliar addresses

• Escalate recurring issues (traffic patterns, address problems, equipment needs) to management
