Delivery Boy

A delivery boy (or courier) ensures the safe, accurate, and timely transportation of goods, food, or documents from vendors to customers. Key responsibilities include planning efficient routes, loading/unloading items, verifying recipient details, collecting payments, and providing excellent customer service. They must follow traffic regulations and maintain vehicle safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliveries: Transporting items safely to various locations within set timeframes.

• Route Planning: Optimizing routes to avoid traffic and ensure efficiency.

• Customer Service: Acting as the face of the company, providing friendly service, and resolving minor issues.

• Package Handling: Loading, unloading, and protecting items from damage.

• Transactions: Collecting cash or digital payments and obtaining signatures/proof of delivery.

• Documentation: Updating delivery status, logging, and reporting issues to supervisors.

• Vehicle Care: Performing basic maintenance and following traffic safety laws.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• License: Valid driver’s license (or commercial license for larger vehicles) and a clean driving record.

• Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the assigned area, roads, and neighborhoods.

• Physical Fitness: Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver packages.

• Time Management: Reliability in meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks.

• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and dispatchers.

• Equipment: Own two-wheeler/vehicle often required for food/local delivery, along with a smartphone.
