Job Summary:

The Vehicle Tracking Executive is responsible for monitoring company vehicles in real time using GPS tracking systems, ensuring on-time movement, route compliance, safety, and effective communication with drivers and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Monitoring

• Monitor all vehicles through GPS tracking systems in real time

• Track vehicle movement, stoppages, delays, and deviations

• Ensure vehicles follow assigned routes and schedules

Driver Coordination

• Communicate with drivers for location updates and trip status

• Inform drivers about route changes, delays, or customer instructions

• Record driver issues such as breakdowns, accidents, or emergencies

Trip Management

• Update trip status (start, en-route, arrived, completed)

• Share ETA updates with operations, customers, or management

• Ensure timely loading and unloading confirmations

Exception Handling

• Identify delays, route deviations, and unauthorized stoppages

• Escalate issues to Transport Manager / Operations Head

• Maintain incident and delay reports

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily vehicle movement and trip reports

• Maintain tracking logs and vehicle performance data

• Support MIS reports for management review

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with company SOPs and safety guidelines

• Monitor over-speeding and unsafe driving alerts

• Report violations for corrective action

System & Data Management

• Update tracking software and records accurately

• Coordinate with GPS service providers for system issues

• Maintain historical tracking data

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of GPS tracking systems

• Good communication skills (Tamil / English / Hindi preferred)

• Ability to work in shifts and handle pressure

• Basic computer knowledge (Excel, tracking portals)

• Experience in transport or logistics operations preferred
