Purchase Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Purchase Manager to oversee procurement operations within our pharmaceutical distribution business. The ideal candidate will ensure timely sourcing of medicines and healthcare products, maintain optimal inventory levels, and build strong vendor relationships while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement of pharmaceutical products (branded, generics, OTC, surgical items, etc.)

• Develop and maintain relationships with manufacturers, stockists, and distributors

• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements with vendors

• Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock outs and overstock situations

• Ensure procurement complies with regulatory standards and company policies

• Analyze demand trends and coordinate with sales and warehouse teams

• Track purchase orders, deliveries, and supplier performance

• Handle vendor audits and documentation

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency

• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier contracts

Experience & Skills

• 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical procurement or distribution

• Strong knowledge of pharma products, vendors, and market dynamics

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., drug compliance, GST, etc.)

• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills

• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel

• Strong analytical and organizational abilities

• Good communication and leadership skills
