Job Description

Role Overview

The CRM acts as the primary liaison between clients and the insurance brokerage, ensuring client satisfaction, retention, and the smooth delivery of insurance solutions tailored to client needs. This person often handles both commercial and personal lines clients, depending on the firm's structure.


Key Responsibilities

1. Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client queries, renewals, and claims assistance.

  • Understand client needs and recommend appropriate insurance products.

2. Policy Servicing

  • Assist in preparing quotations, renewals, endorsements, and policy documentation.

  • Ensure all documentation is compliant with industry regulations.

  • Coordinate with underwriters and insurers on client matters.

3. Renewals & Retention

  • Proactively manage policy renewals, ensuring timely and competitive quotes are offered.

  • Work to retain clients by offering excellent service and resolving any issues promptly.

4. Cross-Selling and Upselling

  • Identify opportunities to offer additional coverages or more comprehensive insurance solutions.

  • Educate clients on the benefits of other relevant insurance products.

5. CRM Systems & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate client records in CRM software.

  • Generate reports on client interactions, renewals, claims, and service issues.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Insurance Knowledge: Solid understanding of insurance products, markets, and underwriting processes.

  • Client-Focused Mindset: Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in managing policy documentation and client data.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to handle client issues diplomatically and efficiently.

  • Organization: Ability to manage multiple client accounts, deadlines, and follow-ups.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office.


Preferred Background

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, insurance, or a related field.

  • Experience: 2–5 years in an insurance broking or customer service role, preferably within the insurance sector.

  • Certifications: Insurance qualifications (e.g., CII, ANZIIF, IRDAI license) are often preferred or required.
