1. Coaching Vision & Philosophy
To provide a fun, structured, and progressive cricket learning experience that focuses on:
- Developing fundamental cricketing skills
- Improving physical literacy and conditioning
- Enhancing game awareness, teamwork, and confidence
- Encouraging participation and performance through match play and competitions
2. Term Structure
Term 1: May 26 – October 10, 2025
Focus: Fundamentals, Physical Literacy, Technical Skills, Skills Assessments
Term 2: October 20, 2025 – March 10, 2026
Focus: Game Sense, Decision-Making, Match Play, Intra-grade Competitions
3. Grade-wise Development Goals
Grade 4: Basic catching, throwing, grip/stance, underarm & overarm throws, simple batting drills
Grade 5: Improved bowling actions, front/back foot shots, game awareness, calling & running
Grade 6: Bowling accuracy, bat-ball contact, field placements, pairs matches
Grade 7: Seam/spin basics, shot selection, net practice, match formats
Grade 8: Bowling variations, pressure drills, tactical awareness, fitness circuits
Grade 9: Conditioning, technical refinement, role-based practice, leadership
Grade 10: Match prep, consistency, tactical execution, performance tracking
4. Monthly Coaching Themes
May–June: Physical literacy, grip, stance, movement
July: Batting – front foot shots, fielding
August: Bowling, catching
September: Running between wickets, pairs cricket
October: Mini-matches, roles
Nov–Dec: Game scenarios, overs breakdown
January: Role-specific work, rotation
February: Competitions
March: Assessments
5. Session Format (60 mins)
0–10 mins: Dynamic warm-up + mobility games
10–20 mins: Skill drill (bat/bowl/field)
20–35 mins: Game-based drill or nets
35–50 mins: Match scenario or role-specific work
50–60 mins: Fitness / Cool-down / Recap
6. Fitness & Conditioning
- Integrated twice a month
- Agility ladders, cone drills, sprints, core work
- Focus: speed, balance, endurance, strength
7. Game Sense & Tactical Awareness
- Modified games: pairs, target zones, over-based formats
- Decision-making, fielding strategy, roles
8. Competitions & Match Play
- Mini-matches from October
- Term 2: Inter-grade/house tournaments
- Skills Day or Cricket Carnival
- Scorecards/stat tracking (Grades 7–10)
9. Coach Roles & Setup Use
- Use astro turf, nets, ground as per session plan
- 2–3 stations per session
- Student-led warm-ups (Grades 8–10)
- Use cones, tennis balls, stumps, etc.
10. Assessment & Feedback
- Mid-year skill reviews (October)
- Year-end reports (March)
- Self-assessment (Grades 7–10)
