The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, managing staff, and achieving sales targets. This role is key in maintaining store standards, inventory accuracy, and team productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations
Assist in managing day-to-day store activities
Ensure store cleanliness, visual merchandising, and product display standards
Handle opening and closing procedures
Sales & Customer Service
Drive sales performance and achieve monthly targets
Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer queries
Upsell plants, garden accessories, and related products
Team Management
Supervise and guide sales staff
Train team members on product knowledge (plants, care, accessories)
Inventory Management
Maintain stock levels and coordinate replenishment
Conduct regular stock checks and audits
Ensure proper handling of plants and inventory
Billing & Cash Handling
Oversee billing operations and cash management
Ensure accuracy in transactions and daily cash reconciliation
Education:
Graduate in any field
Experience:
2–5 years in retail/store management
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management
Basic plant knowledge (preferred)
Good communication and customer handling skills
Familiarity with POS systems
