Depending on the organization, the role focuses either on advising and mentoring (institutional) or counseling and driving enrollments (ed-tech/sales).
Key Responsibilities
Student Guidance: Conduct one-on-one sessions to help students choose courses, set attainable academic goals, and improve study habits.
Assessments & Planning: Administer capability assessments and develop personalized educational and career plans.
Admissions & Outreach (for Ed-Tech/Institutions): Reach out to prospective learners, conduct demo sessions, and convert leads into enrollments.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with parents, teachers, and administrators to address behavioral issues or learning barriers.
Resource Facilitation: Connect students with helpful resources, such as tutors, mentorship programs, or career counseling.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, confidential notes regarding student progress and assessment results.
Essential Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, education, or a relevant field.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (bilingual proficiency is a strong asset in regions like India).
Core Competencies: Active listening, high empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills.
Tech-Savviness: Familiarity with education management systems, online demo tools, and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams).
