Job Title: Commis 1

Department: Kitchen 

Reports to: shift lead/manager

Job Summary:

Commis 1 is responsible for  preparation, cooking, and presentation/packaging of dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and consistency. The role requires a strong understanding of kitchen operations and the ability to supervise junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and quality standards.

Ensure all food leaving the kitchen meets the required presentation and taste standards.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the assigned kitchen section.

Support the shift lead/manager in daily kitchen operations.

Check ingredients for freshness, proper storage, and quality before use.

Ensure proper portion control and minimize food wastage.

Train and guide Team Members and kitchen staffs.

Coordinate effectively with other kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

Minimum 2–3 years of experience as Commis 2 or in a similar role.

Good knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.

Strong focus on food quality, taste, and presentation.

Team player with good communication and time management skills.

Culinary certification or diploma preferred.

• It is a Full Time Cook / Chef job for candidates with 1 - 4 years of experience.
