Indian Cook

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, assist with mise-en-place, and cook dishes as instructed by the Indian Head Chef or Sous Chef.

• Execute basic and intermediate Indian food preparation (gravies, tandoor support, curries, snacks, breads, etc.).

• Maintain consistent quality and presentation standards for all dishes.

• Ensure hygiene, sanitation, and safety protocols are followed at all times.

• Assist in maintaining stock levels, proper storage, and minimizing waste.

• Keep the workstation clean, organized, and ready for service at all times.

• Support kitchen operations during events, festivals, and special cultural programs.

• Coordinate effectively with team members to ensure smooth service during peak hours.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience as a Commi in an Indian kitchen (hot kitchen, tandoor, or curry section experience preferred).

• Strong basic skills in Indian cuisine (cutting, prep, masala handling, cooking techniques).

• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with senior chefs.

• Good understanding of hygiene and food safety standards.

• Physically fit and able to work in a busy kitchen environment.

• Willingness to learn, improve skills, and adapt to a multicultural team setting.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during cultural events.
