We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tandoor Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be an expert in traditional tandoori cooking techniques, capable of preparing authentic and flavorful tandoori dishes such as kebabs, naan, tandoori chicken, fish, and paneer using a clay oven (tandoor). You will play a key role in delivering high-quality Indian cuisine while maintaining high standards of hygiene and kitchen safety.
Prepare and cook a wide range of tandoori dishes in accordance with traditional recipes.
Operate and manage a clay tandoor oven safely and efficiently.
Prepare marinades and ensure proper marination of meat, poultry, fish, and vegetables.
Bake fresh tandoori breads like naan, roti, and kulcha to order.
Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.
Ensure all food preparation and storage areas meet hygiene and food safety standards.
Manage inventory related to tandoor items and report shortages to the Head Chef.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff when needed.
Work with the kitchen team to coordinate meal preparation and timely service.
Follow portion control and waste management guidelines.
Proven experience as a Tandoor Chef or in a similar role in an Indian kitchen.
Expertise in tandoori cooking techniques and use of the tandoor oven.
Knowledge of traditional Indian spices, marinades, and cooking methods.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Food safety and hygiene certification preferred.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
1+ years of experience as a Tandoor Chef.
Experience in a high-volume restaurant setting.
Multilingual ability (especially Hindi, Punjabi, or regional Indian languages) is a plus.
