The Tandoor Chef is responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of dishes using a traditional tandoor oven. This role requires expertise in marination, grilling techniques, dough preparation, and maintaining high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of Indian cuisine and experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Prepare and cook tandoor-based dishes such as breads, kebabs, and grilled items
Marinate meats, seafood, and vegetables using traditional spice blends
Prepare dough for naan, roti, and other tandoor breads
Operate and maintain the tandoor oven safely and efficiently
Ensure food is cooked to the correct temperature and quality standards
Monitor food stock levels and communicate inventory needs
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
Assist in menu planning and development of new tandoor dishes
Train and guide junior kitchen staff when required
Proven experience as a Tandoor Chef or similar role
Strong knowledge of Indian spices, marinades, and cooking techniques
Experience operating a traditional clay or gas tandoor oven
Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
Good teamwork and communication skills
