Position: Cook
Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Job Purpose
To prepare healthy, hygienic, and nutritious food for patients as per their prescribed diet, naturopathy requirements, and instructions from the concerned staff.
Roles & Responsibilities
Prepare daily patient meals, snacks, beverages, and special diet meals as per the prescribed diet plan.
Prepare food according to individual patient requirements and dietary instructions.
Follow instructions regarding low-salt, low-oil, liquid, soft, diabetic, or other special diets, wherever applicable.
Ensure food is fresh, hygienic, nutritious, and properly cooked.
Maintain proper taste, quality, portion size, and presentation of patient food.
Prepare and serve patient meals according to the scheduled meal timings.
Ensure that the correct diet is provided to the correct patient as per the diet instructions.
Coordinate with the concerned staff regarding patient diet requirements and any changes in the diet plan.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, cooking area, utensils, and equipment.
Check the quality and freshness of vegetables, fruits, grains, and other food items before use.
Store food items properly and maintain proper food safety practices.
Avoid unnecessary wastage of food and kitchen materials.
Maintain personal hygiene and wear clean kitchen uniform, cap/hair covering, and other required protective items.
Handle kitchen equipment safely and report any damage or malfunction to the supervisor.
Maintain proper kitchen stock and inform the concerned person about low-stock or required items.
Follow all food safety, hygiene, infection-control, and workplace safety guidelines.
Support the kitchen team in maintaining smooth and timely food services.
Perform other kitchen-related duties assigned by the Supervisor/Management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience as a Cook, preferably in a hospital, naturopathy centre, wellness centre, or healthcare facility.
Knowledge of preparing healthy, nutritious, and patient-specific meals.
Basic knowledge of special and therapeutic diets.
Knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
Ability to follow diet instructions carefully.
Good teamwork, punctuality, and discipline.
Physically fit and able to perform kitchen duties.
