About Vedaanta Nandi Retreat
Vedaanta Nandi Retreat is a premium senior living community scheduled to commence operations on 15th August 2026. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cook specializing in authentic Karnataka cuisine to provide nutritious, hygienic, and flavorful meals for our senior residents.
Position Summary
The Cook will be responsible for preparing traditional Karnataka vegetarian only dishes, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, nutrition, and hygiene standards. The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on experience in Karnataka regional cuisines such as Udupi, North Karnataka, South Karnataka, Malnad, and Mangalorean preparations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare authentic Karnataka breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner menus.
Cook traditional dishes including Idli, Dosa, Akki Roti, Ragi Mudde, Bisi Bele Bath, Puliyogare, Kosambari, Saaru, Palya, Udupi-style curries, Mangalorean specialties, and other regional delicacies.
Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety.
Plan menus in consultation with the management and nutrition requirements of senior residents.
Monitor inventory, stock levels, and minimize food wastage.
Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials and cooked food.
Coordinate with kitchen assistants and housekeeping staff for smooth operations.
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Cook/Chef specializing in Karnataka cuisine.
Experience in hotels, resorts, senior living communities, restaurants, or large-scale kitchens preferred.
Strong knowledge of traditional Karnataka cooking techniques and ingredients.
