Job Title: Cook
Job Summary
The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious, hygienic, and high-quality meals as per the approved menu. The role includes maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, ensuring food safety standards, and supporting efficient kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks according to the prescribed menu.
Ensure food is cooked in a hygienic, safe, and timely manner.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, utensils, equipment, and work area.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.
Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
Store food items properly to prevent spoilage and wastage.
Monitor food stock and inform the supervisor regarding shortages or replenishment needs.
Ensure proper portion control and minimize food wastage.
Coordinate with the Kitchen Supervisor/Management regarding daily meal planning and special dietary requirements.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues.
Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies.
Perform any other duties assigned by the management related to kitchen operations.
Qualifications
Minimum 10th Pass (preferred).
Certificate or diploma in cooking/catering is desirable.
Previous experience as a Cook in a hospital, hostel, canteen, restaurant, or institutional kitchen is preferred.
