Job Title: Continental Commis Chef
Job Summary:
The Continental Commis Chef is responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of continental dishes while maintaining high standards of hygiene, quality, and presentation. The role involves supporting senior chefs in daily kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of continental cuisine as per standard recipes.
Ensure proper mise en place before service.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Support senior chefs (Chef de Partie / Sous Chef) during service.
Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors of shortages.
Properly store food items and ingredients as per guidelines.
Assist in minimizing food wastage.
Ensure all equipment is used and maintained properly.
Skills & Requirements:
Basic knowledge of continental cuisine.
Understanding of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP preferred).
Qualifications:
Diploma or certification in Hotel Management / Culinary Arts.
0–2 years of experience in a similar role (freshers can also apply).
Working Conditions:
Flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Physically demanding role (standing for long hours, lifting supplies).
