Role Summary

We are looking for a skilled Continental Chef (Commis) to join our culinary team at Gopalan. The role involves preparing and presenting high-quality continental dishes while maintaining kitchen hygiene, consistency, and food safety standards. The ideal candidate should be passionate about cooking, disciplined, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook continental cuisine

• Support the Chef de Partie / Head Chef in day-to-day operations

• Follow standard recipes and ensure food quality & presentation

• Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO) and storage of ingredients

• Maintain kitchen hygiene, cleanliness & safety standards

• Assist in menu planning & new dish development when required

• Follow portion control and minimize wastage

• Work closely with the service team for smooth operations

• Ensure compliance with FSSAI & food safety standards

Requirements

• 2 to 6+ years of experience as Continental Commis / Assistant Cook

• Experience in hotels, cafés, restaurants, or cloud kitchens preferred

• Strong knowledge of continental cooking basics

• Ability to work shifts and weekends

• Good communication & teamwork skills

• Culinary / Hotel Management certification preferred (not mandatory)
