Location: Daylife Cafe Kitchen
The Commis Cook supports daily kitchen operations by preparing, cooking, and presenting menu items as per cafe standards. The role involves working across multiple sections including pizza, pasta, sandwiches, rice bowls, biryani, and milkshakes while maintaining hygiene, speed, and consistency.
Prepare ingredients (cutting, chopping, marinating, portioning) for all menu items.
Cook and assemble dishes including:
Pizza (base preparation, sauce, toppings, baking)
Pasta (boiling, sauces, plating)
Sandwiches & Burgers
Rice Bowls & Biryani
Milkshakes & Beverages
Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes and presentation standards.
Maintain consistency in taste, portion size, and quality.
Set up workstation before service and ensure smooth operations during rush hours.
Assist senior chefs in bulk preparation and special orders.
Monitor stock levels and inform supervisor for replenishment.
Minimize food wastage and follow portion control.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and storage areas.
Follow food safety standards (FSSAI guidelines).
Ensure proper storage of raw and cooked food items.
Wear proper uniform, gloves, and maintain personal hygiene.
Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, mixers, and blenders safely.
Clean and maintain equipment after use.
Coordinate with team members for timely order execution.
Support other sections when required.
Follow instructions from senior kitchen staff.
Basic knowledge of cooking techniques.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Team player with positive attitude.
Willingness to learn and multitask.
Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene practices.
Prior experience in cafe or restaurant kitchen (pizza/pasta/fast food preferred).
Culinary training is a plus but not mandatory.
Ability to stand for long hours.
Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
