Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of Continental and Chinese dishes as per recipes and standards.

• Ensure food quality, presentation, and portion control are maintained at all times.

• Prepare ingredients, sauces, marinades, and mise en place before service.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, equipment, and workstations.

• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.

• Assist senior chefs during busy service periods.

• Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors about shortages.

• Minimize food wastage and ensure proper storage of ingredients.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in Continental or Chinese cuisine.

• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Team player with a positive attitude.

• Knowledge of food safety standards.

Job Description – Chef de Partie / Senior Chef (Continental & Chinese)

Location: The Cherry Tree Cafe
Department: Kitchen Operations

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and oversee Continental and Chinese food production.

• Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all dishes.

• Manage daily kitchen operations for the assigned section.

• Train and guide Commis Chefs and kitchen staff.

• Maintain food cost controls and reduce wastage.

• Monitor inventory, ordering, and stock management.

• Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and kitchen SOPs.

• Coordinate with service staff to ensure smooth guest experience.

• Develop new menu items and seasonal specials when required.

Requirements:

• 3-8 years of experience in Continental and/or Chinese cuisine.

• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food production.

• Leadership and team management skills.

• Ability to handle high-volume operations and pressure situations.

• Knowledge of inventory management and food costing.

• Hotel management qualification preferred.
