Key Responsibilities
Independently prepare and execute baking of cakes, pastries, cookies, breads as per standard recipes
Perform intermediate-level cake finishing, including frosting, layering, filling, and basic fondant or cream work
Assist the Head Baker / Pastry Lead in developing and testing new recipes and seasonal specials
Monitor ingredient quality, stock rotation, and flag replenishment needs proactively
Ensure proper storage, labelling, and FIFO (First In, First Out) compliance for all ingredients and finished goods
Oversee and guide Bakery Assistants during production, ensuring consistency and quality
Support custom order preparation, including portion accuracy and packaging for delivery and dispatch
Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards across all workstations and equipment at all times
Requirements
1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in a bakery, patisserie, or pastry kitchen
Solid understanding of baking science — ingredients, ratios, mixing methods, and temperatures
Ability to work independently on assigned production tasks with minimal supervision
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, order-driven cloud kitchen environment
Team player with the ability to guide junior staff
Physically fit for kitchen work and flexible with working hours, including weekends
Preferred Skills
Experience with eggless, sugar-free, or health-conscious baking
Familiarity with custom-order workflows, costing, and yield management
Basic knowledge of cake design, chocolate work, or bread making
Formal training from a culinary / hospitality institute (diploma or certificate in bakery & confectionery) is desirable, but not mandatory
