The Commis 2 is responsible for assisting in the food preparation process and supporting the kitchen team. This role involves preparing ingredients, basic cooking, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring kitchen hygiene standards are followed at all times.
Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items under the guidance of senior chefs
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen
Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items
Follow recipes and instructions accurately
Assist in receiving and storing kitchen stock
Support the Commis 1, Chef de Partie, and other senior chefs during service
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and tools
Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or Head Chef
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen
Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Team player with a positive attitude
Willingness to learn and grow within the culinary team
Flexible with working hours, including weekends and holidays
Culinary diploma or relevant training (preferred)
Standing for long periods
Working in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment
Occasional lifting of heavy items
