Position: Commis 2 – Tandoor / Chinese / Continental
Location: Mira Road, Maharashtra
Salary: ₹18,000/- per month
Department: Kitchen / Food Production
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Head Chef / Sous Chef / Commis 1

Job Purpose

We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Commis 2 to support the kitchen team in daily food preparation and cooking activities. The candidate will assist in the Tandoor, Chinese or Continental section and ensure proper food preparation, hygiene and kitchen standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Commis 1 and senior chefs in daily kitchen operations.

• Carry out basic food preparation such as cutting, chopping, cleaning and marination.

• Assist in preparing and cooking food as per standard recipes.

• Support the assigned Tandoor, Chinese or Continental section.

• Ensure proper preparation of ingredients before service.

• Maintain consistency in food quality, taste and portion size.

• Assist in timely preparation of food during peak hours.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the assigned kitchen section.

• Ensure proper storage and handling of food items.

• Follow FIFO practices and help minimise food wastage.

• Keep kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas clean and organised.

• Check the freshness and quality of ingredients before use.

• Follow instructions given by the Head Chef, Sous Chef and Commis 1.

• Follow all kitchen SOPs, hygiene standards and food-safety procedures.

• Support the kitchen team during busy operations and maintain discipline.

Section-Specific Responsibilities

Tandoor: Assist with preparation of tandoori items, kebabs, breads, marinades and other Tandoor preparations.

Chinese: Assist with preparation of vegetables, sauces, noodles, rice, starters, gravies and other Chinese preparations.

Continental: Assist with preparation of soups, sauces, pasta, vegetables, starters and other Continental preparations.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a hotel, restaurant or similar food outlet.

• Basic knowledge of Tandoor, Chinese or Continental food preparation.

• Good understanding of basic kitchen practices.

• Willingness to learn and develop cooking skills.

• Knowledge of basic kitchen hygiene and food-safety practices.

• Ability to work as part of a team.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

• Hotel Management / Culinary qualification will be an added advantage.
