A Commi Chef is an entry-level position in the kitchen, responsible for assisting senior chefs in food preparation, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. This role is ideal for individuals starting their career in the culinary field.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes under the supervision of senior chefs
Perform basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and marinating
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications
Ensure all food is prepared according to safety and hygiene standards
Store ingredients properly and monitor stock levels
Help in receiving and inspecting deliveries
Support other kitchen staff during busy service periods
Required Skills & Qualifications
Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
Culinary diploma or relevant training (preferred but not always required)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
