The Commis 1 is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in accordance with company and hygiene standards. This role supports the senior chefs and ensures smooth kitchen operations, maintaining high food quality and consistency.
Prepare and cook menu items
Ensure all dishes are prepared according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned work areas.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of food items.
Follow all food hygiene and safety regulations.
Report any maintenance, safety, or hygiene issues to the supervisor.
Assist in receiving and storing deliveries properly.
Support other kitchen sections when required.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent preferred.
1–2 years of experience in a similar position within a hotel or restaurant.
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
