We are looking for a Chinese Cook to join our team Thyme and whisk Restaurant and prepare delicious meals for the guests. Key responsibility includes preparing and delivering high-quality dishes, setting up the menu, and delegating tasks to kitchen staff (If needed)
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking: Execute, prepare, and cook a variety of Chinese dishes (such as Cantonese, Sichuan, or regional specialties) according to recipes, including chopping, seasoning, and Wok cooking.
Quality Control: Ensure consistency in flavor, portion size, and presentation for every dish.
Kitchen Hygiene & Safety: Adhere strictly to food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures (e.g., proper storage, rotation).
Inventory Management: Monitor food stock, ingredients, and supplies, and inform senior staff of shortages to ensure freshness.
Station Management: Set up and break down workstations, clean work areas, and operate equipment like ovens, stoves, and fryers.
Menu Development: Assist in developing and testing new recipes to enhance the menu.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience as a Chinese Cook, Chef de Partie, or similar role in a professional kitchen.
Culinary Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Chinese culinary techniques (e.g., stir-frying, steaming), ingredients, and regional cuisines.
Technical Skills: Strong knife skills and proficiency with Wok cooking.
Health Certifications: Possession of a valid food safety or hygiene certificate.
Attributes: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a team.
