Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chinese Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of authentic Chinese cuisine, cooking techniques, sauces, and presentation styles. The candidate must be able to maintain high food quality standards while working efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook authentic Chinese dishes including starters, soups, noodles, rice, gravies, and stir-fried items.
Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
Prepare Chinese sauces, marinades, and stocks from scratch.
Maintain hygiene and food safety standards as per FSSAI guidelines.
Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the kitchen supervisor.
Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials.
Maintain cleanliness of workstations and kitchen equipment.
Assist in menu planning and introducing new dishes.
Coordinate with the kitchen team for smooth service during peak hours.
Skills & Requirements:
Proven experience as a Chinese Cook in restaurant or hotel industry.
Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques such as stir-frying, steaming, deep-frying, and wok cooking.
Wok handling skills
Sauce preparation expertise
Knife skills
Knowledge of ingredients and seasoning balance
Attention to detail
Understanding of authentic Chinese flavors and sauces.
Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
Good time management and teamwork skills.
Culinary certification is an added advantage.
