We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chinese Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in authentic Chinese cuisine, strong knowledge of regional Chinese dishes, and the ability to prepare high-quality meals that delight our guests. The Chinese Chef will be responsible for menu creation, food preparation, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and ensuring consistent taste and presentation.
Prepare, cook, and present authentic Chinese dishes with a focus on taste, quality, and presentation.
Develop and innovate Chinese menu items, incorporating seasonal ingredients.
Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff in Chinese cooking techniques.
Ensure all dishes are prepared in compliance with food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards.
Manage stock levels, monitor inventory, and reduce food wastage.
Collaborate with the Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to plan menus and specials.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Chinese kitchen section.
Train and mentor kitchen staff in Chinese culinary skills and safety practices.
Stay updated with culinary trends and customer preferences in Chinese cuisine.
Proven experience as a Chinese Chef or similar role in a restaurant or hotel.
Strong knowledge of various Chinese cooking styles (Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, etc.).
Expertise in wok cooking, steaming, roasting, and traditional Chinese culinary methods.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
Culinary degree or professional training in Chinese cuisine is preferred.
